Angels Weeping

Here is the latest I am working on. What you hear is the beginning of the piece, as I struggle with keeping a melody going that is completely brand new.  Lovers of classical music will recognize the theme of Pachelbel's Canon in D, as it weaves in and out of the progression of the piece.

One of the reasons for this title is that I just had finished watching "City of Angels," where an angel longs for the experiences of being human, particularly because he cannot experience touch.  He must sacrifice the glory of being angelic if he wishes to "fall" and become human.  He wrestles with this choice, and the scenes are done beautifully, often without words. This piece is about that kind of longing, or yearning, and the sadness felt for the lack of what is desired so strongly.
